We have always said it is CM’s residence, Arvind Kejriwal gave that up too after resigning: Sanjay Singh

  • October 4, 2024

Former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, vacated the Chief Minister’s residence on Friday after stepping down from the position of Delhi’s Chief Minister. He moved to a new residence on Firoz Shah Road with his elderly parents, wife, and children. Carrying belongings in just two auto rickshaws.

Before leaving, he shook hands with the staff and embraced them. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) stated that leaders like Arvind Kejriwal are rare in politics. Despite false allegations, he resigned after getting bail and has now vacated the government residence. He harbors no greed or regret, and the people of Delhi will affirm his honesty.

While hitting back at the BJP, senior AAP leader and MP Sanjay Singh stated, “I will vacate my house in an hour. I want the Prime Minister to come and stay in my house. Making arbitrary accusations for the sake of it and sheer mockery is not the right approach. Arvind Kejriwal and all of us had said that the residence belonged to the Chief Minister.“

“Arvind Kejriwal resigned from being the CM and vacated the official residence. Leaders tend to cling to their bungalows and privileges for years. I know many such leaders. So, the BJP should clarify that if the Prime Minister is ready to come and stay in my house, I will vacate it,” asserted the senior AAP leader.

Meanwhile, senior AAP leader and Cabinet Minister, Saurabh Bharadwaj, said that Arvind Kejriwal did not resign under pressure from the LG or BJP leaders. He resigned of his own will. Therefore, the decision to relinquish the facilities associated with the position of CM is also his own. He doesn’t need any certificate from the BJP.

“Arvind Kejriwal did what he thought was right, and the BJP should do the same. If the BJP has such an issue with that bungalow, its seven MPs who are staying in bungalows, should vacate theirs too. The BJP must bring about this change within itself,” the Minister added.
