Aam Aadmi Party’s Jansampark Abhiyan kicked off in the Greater Kailash constituency on Thursday. The campaign was led by Senior AAP Leader and Delhi Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj in the form of a Padyatra. During the Padyatra, the Minister was warmly greeted by the constituents who came out in large numbers to follow him through the constituency.
As part of the campaign, Saurabh Bharadwaj distributed Arvind Kejriwal’s letter to the residents and took his message to the masses. Notably, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal had launched the campaign yesterday where he had issued a letter in the name of Delhiites. The letter explains the political motivations behind his arrest and the BJP’s larger plan to derail Delhi’s progress.
Saurabh Bharadwaj stated that the former CM Arvind Kejriwal has addressed the questions that were on every Delhiite’s mind through his letter: Why was he jailed under false charges? Why was his insulin withheld for months? Why was his life put in danger by the BJP? He said, “The reason is clear, after Arvind Kejriwal was jailed, Delhi came to a standstill.”
He stated that the BJP’s plan was to paralyze Delhi in the absence of Arvind Kejriwal. “Medicine supply in hospitals were halted, tests were stopped at Mohalla Clinics, pensions for the elderly were delayed for four months, doctors’ salaries were withheld, water and sewage projects were paused, and road construction came to a stop,” he said.
“Now that Arvind Kejriwal is out, work has resumed, and the public understands this well. The BJP’s latest conspiracy is to take control of Delhi and dismantle the Delhi model,” said Saurabh Bharadwaj.
He further talked about how the people are questioning the BJP, which governs 22 states, yet fails to provide the services that Delhi residents enjoy in any of those states. “The BJP has no answers to these questions. To silence them, they plotted Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest to weaken the AAP government. We are taking Arvind Kejriwal’s letter to the public to expose this plot,” He added.
Saurabh Bharadwaj continued, “People are already aware of the BJP’s tactics, and this letter further exposes them. In Haryana, the people wanted to oust the BJP, but the party used caste politics to stay in power. They push a narrative of Jats versus other castes. The Jats in Delhi should understand that while the BJP may pretend to support them here, they are clearly against the Jats in Haryana.”
