In a charged padyatra through Delhi’s Trilokpuri assembly constituency on Tuesday, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia directly engaged with the public, drawing large crowds of supporters who greeted him with garlands and slogans of “Kejriwal and the broom: the symbol of honesty.”
Addressing the gathering, the senior AAP leader called out BJP’s conspiracies to derail AAP’s efforts to improve government schools, by sending both him and Arvind Kejriwal to jail to stop the transformation of education in Delhi. “If your children get a good education, BJP won’t be able to fool them,” he asserted. Manish Sisodia was joined by local MLA Rohit Mehraulia, councilors and other senior leaders.
Senior AAP leader and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia stated that he was released recently after spending 17 months in jail. “My only crime was building schools for Delhi’s children. When I first visited this school in 2015-16, it was in terrible shape but it has improved now. My dream was to transform all schools in Delhi, but the BJP became insecure. Because if children would get a good education, who would fall for their lies?” He reasoned.
“They (BJP) jailed me to halt the progress in Delhi Government schools,” Manish Sisodia further said. He asserted that they jailed Arvind Kejriwal because he reduced the electricity bills to zero, improved hospitals, and created employment jobs for youth.
“The BJP doesn’t know how to make electricity bills zero in any of its states or improve schools and hospitals,” remarked the senior AAP leader. He continued that all they know is how to jail leaders of opposition parties when they can’t form the government. The British used to do this, and now the BJP has adopted their tactics. But the AAP is not afraid of their jails or their ‘lathis’ (batons).
Manish Sisodia added that Arvind Kejriwal resigned due to false allegations of the BJP. He could have remained CM for six more months, and I could have continued as Education Minister after my release. “We resigned to let Delhiites decide if we’re honest. If they believe in our honesty, they’ll vote us back. I was building schools, but I’ll only be Education Minister again if the people affirm my honesty with their votes.” he stated.
During a media interaction, Manish Sisodia said that people in Trilokpuri are praising government schools, benefiting from Mohalla Clinics, and enjoying Arvind Kejriwal’s policies. The elderly mentioned their gratitude for free pilgrimages, and many are recalling how Arvind Kejriwal’s ‘rewris’ (free services) have positively impacted their lives. The public is very happy.
Craze amongst people to take selfie with Manish Sisodia
During the padyatra in Trilokpuri, no one was left behind to take selfies with Manish Sisodia. From children to elders, everyone was eager to take selfies with him. Women were also not left behind in this. During this, people welcomed Manish Sisodia with flowers and garlands. Supporters also brought banners and posters of ‘What is the identity of honesty, Kejriwal and broom symbol’.

During the padyatra in Trilokpuri, a large number of school children also reached to meet Manish Sisodia. Children also brought posters of ‘We love you Manish Uncle’. The little children became so happy after meeting Manish Sisodia and said ‘I love you Manish Uncle’. During this, Manish Sisodia also got photographs taken with the children.
People said, whole Delhi is with you
During the padyatra, a supporter came to meet Manish Sisodia with great enthusiasm. He said that the whole public of Delhi is with you. In this padyatra of Manish Sisodia, people got down from their vehicles to meet him and took pictures with him.
