AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal vowed sweeping reforms for Haryana in a powerful rally supporting AAP candidate from Haryana’s Assandh constituency Amandeep Singh Jundla. The AAP Supremo promised free, quality healthcare in government hospitals and free electricity, similar to Delhi and Punjab.
Highlighting the stark contrast, Arvind Kejriwal emphasized how Delhi’s government schools now attract even the affluent, while Haryana’s schools remain in dilapidated state. During this, AAP Haryana state president of the party Dr. Sushil Gupta and other senior leaders were present.
AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal stated that it feels great to be amongst you guys. They (BJP) jailed me, the Prime Minister did. I was in jail for five months, which was like a tough ordeal. They tried many ways to break me, to break my spirit and my courage. They gave me various forms of torture, both mentally and physically.
The AAP Supremo continued, “They even stopped my medicines. I am a diabetic, and I need insulin injections four times a day. For 15-20 days, they stopped my insulin injections and even my kidneys could have failed. I had to go to court to get an order for my insulin injections. I don’t know what their intention was, what they were trying to do with me.”
“They wanted to break my courage and spirit, but they didn’t know I am Haryana’s son. You can break anyone’s spirit, but not someone from Haryana, no matter the situation. Today, I am standing with full strength and confidence and it’s the blessing of the Almighty. No one knew Arvind Kejriwal 15 years ago and suddenly one day, I became the Chief Minister of Delhi,” added Arvind Kejriwal.
The AAP Supremo reasoned that why did the BJP and the Prime Minister put him in jail? What was his fault? “My fault is that for the last ten years, I have been serving the people of Delhi with complete honesty. My crime is that earlier, there used to be 8-hour power cuts in Delhi, but now, the Haryana’s son has ensured 24×7 electricity in Delhi,” he added.
He shared, “Earlier, electricity was very expensive in Delhi—people received bills of Rs. 5,000 to 10,000 per month. People used to wonder whether to buy food or pay the electricity bill. Haryana’s son made electricity free in Delhi and Punjab.”
Arvind Kejriwal stated, “Now, in Delhi and Punjab, there is fre 24×7 electricity supply. Only Arvind Kejriwal can provide 24×7 free electricity. Only the ‘jhadu’ (AAP symbol) can give free electricity. My fault is that I gave an excellent education to poor children. Earlier, the children of the poor used to go to government schools, and those schools were in terrible condition—crumbling walls, leaking roofs, no proper education.”
“The children were miserable. Haryana’s son transformed Delhi’s government schools so much that now children studying in those schools are getting jobs with salaries of Rs. 2-3 lakhs per month,” pointed out Arvind Kejriwal.
The AAP National Convenor added that his fault is that he opened Mohalla Clinics in every neighborhood of Delhi. “I built large, excellent government hospitals, just like private hospitals, with air conditioning. Whether someone had a small illness like a cold or cough, or a serious disease like cancer, everything—whether it’s a Rs. 50 medicine or a surgery costing Rs 20 to 40 lakhs—was made free of charge. I made healthcare free for everyone,” he reasoned.
“My fault is that I arranged free pilgrimages for one lakh elderly from Delhi. I took them to places like Rameswaram, Puri, Shirdi Baba, Haridwar-Rishikesh, and Vaishno Devi. They blessed me, and that’s why I am standing alive amongst people today,” asserted Arvind Kejriwal.
The AAP head affirmed that because of his welfare schemes, PM Modi started to feel that he is doing ‘too much work’. He won Delhi thrice, all with huge majorities. Once we won 67 out of 70 seats, another time 62 out of 70 seats—something no one else had achieved. Then we won Punjab with 117 seats. Then we went to Gujarat, where for the first time, we got five MLAs. We went to Goa and got two MLAs for the first time. So PM Modi wanted to stop me,” added Arvind Kejriwal.
He said that then PM Modi hatched a conspiracy, leveled false accusations, made up a fake case, and threw me in jail. I want to tell the PM that I am very small, and he is very big, very powerful and has lots of money and resources. Why doesn’t he do more work than Arvind Kejriwal? I built 500 Mohalla Clinics in Delhi; he should build 5000 Mohalla Clinics across the country. But instead of that, he wants to arrest me and stop the 500 Mohalla Clinics. That is wrong.
“I built 700 schools in Delhi, so the PM should build 70,000 or even 7 lakh schools. He has so much money. Instead of arresting me and trying to close my schools, that would be a betrayal of the country. I arranged free pilgrimages for one lakh elderly. The PM can arrange pilgrimages for one crore elderly people. But he would rather arrest me and stop the work I am doing,” the AAP National Convener further added.
Arvind Kejriwal said that I am giving five guarantees to the people of Haryana. He said, “These are Arvind Kejriwal’s guarantees, not anyone else’s. They have also started giving guarantees after me but their guarantees are fake. First Guarantee: Elect the AAP and in one month, I will provide 24×7 electricity throughout Haryana, and it will be free. And all the old pending electricity bills will be waived. I have done this in Delhi and Punjab.”
“Second Guarantee: Just like we built excellent government schools for the children of Delhi, I guarantee to secure the future of Haryana’s children. Other parties will secure the future of their own children and fill their own pockets for generations. The third guarantee is that just like Delhi, I will make healthcare free in Haryana as well,” shared the AAP National Convener.
The AAP Supremo said that I will arrange employment for the youth of Haryana as my fourth guarantee. In Delhi, we arranged jobs for 12 lakh children. In Punjab, we provided 45,000 government jobs without bribes or recommendations, and arranged 3 lakh private jobs. And the fifth guarantee is I will ensure that every woman receives Rs 1,000 in her bank account every month.
Arvind Kejriwal added that some people ask me, “You are giving such big guarantees, will your government even be formed?” No government will not be formed without us in Haryana. I have been told the roads in Assandh are broken, there is no government college, and there are no hospitals. Just give us one chance, and it will be fixed.”
During this, AAP Haryana State President Dr Sushil Gupta said that the AAP is known for changing the system. Arvind Kejriwal, for the first time in Indian politics, focused on schools, hospitals, electricity, and water. He built world-class hospitals in Delhi, providing 24×7 free medicines, modern equipment, and trained doctors. He set up Mohalla Clinics in every corner, made bus travel free for women, pilgrimages free for the elderly, and honored Rs. 1 crore to the families of those who gave their life for the nation.
He added that Arvind Kejriwal fought for farmers, gave jobs to youth, and still presented a profit budget. As Delhi and Punjab began to develop, Prime Minister Modi feared that the entire country would demand similar services. To tarnish Arvind Kejriwal’s honesty, false cases were filed, and AAP leaders were jailed. But Arvind Kejriwal wasn’t afraid and even gave up the Chief Minister’s position for the sake of his honesty.
Dr. Sushil Gupta further said that the Apex Court called the CBI the government’s puppet and stated that the government misused its power to arrest Arvind Kejriwal, who had no connection to the case. When he was released from jail, he compared his situation to Lord Ram’s exile, saying that like Mother Sita had to give trial by fire, he too has been falsely accused. He vowed to face the people of Delhi and seek their stamp before resuming office.
